Boccia watches are produced in Titanium, a totally hypoallergenic, nickel-free metal that is 30% stronger and 50% lighter than steel, and up to 5 times as expensive.
Titanium takes its name from the giants of Greek mythology who put up fierce resistance against the Gods of Olympus.
Boccia watches are designed by Europeans:
- Marina Sechi from Italy
- Minuca Casadavell from Spain
- Michael Qvortrup from Denmark
- And the T2 range is designed by an American: Jeff Miller from New York
Boccia uses Swiss and Japanese movements.
Boccia watches are water resistant to a minimum depth of 3 bar (1 bar is 10 metres). Sports watches and chronographs are water resistant to a depth of 10 bar. The resistance is indicated on the back of the watch. Titanium is resistant to corrosion.
Boccia straps are leather or titanium as appropriate. The polished bracelets and bangles are also titanium. Boccia has perfected the art of polishing titanium.
Boccia gold plate is applied by hard gold plating of 3 microns. The gold plating is nickel free and exceptionally resistant to abrasion.
Boccia watches use mineral glass on all models except the "Outside" range, which has sapphire crystal glass.
Boccia watches carry a two-year international guarantee.
The name "Boccia" has a soft 'c' and is pronounced "Bochia."
